STR modeled 4 adidas original
Author: SoulTrotteR
A couple of months ago, I modeled for an adidas original shoot. Too bad, due miscommunication the stylist didn’t have my size clothing. And There was no time to do a headshot. But still, it all worked out. I just had to rack the stylist his pants and some stuff from the bags and create an own fresh and funky set of clothing.
peep the pic.

Ghetto Brothers site online
Author: SoulTrotteR

The Ghetto Brothers, especially in their early years, had a reputation as one of the more politically minded and less vengeful of New York-area gangs. After Cornell “Black Benjy” Benjamin was killed in 1971 trying to prevent a fight between two rival gangs, the Ghetto Brothers did not seek the expected revenge on those responsible for his death. Instead, under Melendez’s leadership (and that of Carlos Suarez, also known as Carlos Melendez), they were instrumental in achieving a moderately successful truce among South Bronx and other New York-area gangs at the Hoe Avenue peace meeting which occurred December 8, 1971. Among those present was Afrika Bambaataa, then a 14-year-old Black Spade warlord known on the streets as Bambaataa.

OUT NOW: code ‘99- Lefties Bringin that raw funk Babee
Author: SoulTrotteR

OUT NOW: new Lefties Soul Connection 45 on Melting Pot Music (MPM):
‘Code 99′ b/w ‘Buckaloose’
?The crazy shit once again. Only the finest wonky funk gets through MPM quality control. And this is quality; shit is bangin?, 10/10?. -Alan Brown (Soul Seduction, Vienna)
“Yes, Yes, Yes. I can definitely dance to this one.”
Señorlobo (Lovemonk)
“Code 99 is a bomb! Gonna spin out…!” Pete Isaac (www.jellyjazz.com)
From the MPM site:
Amsterdam’s hardest working funk band returns with a bang and and a renewed sound. Alviz, Onno, Bram and Cody are still keeping it raw but they are adding some new spices to their red-hot gumbo.
“Code 99″ is a next level b-boy tune with psych-rock guitar licks and an sharp but uplifting hammond theme. The breaks on this song are tighter than Kanye’s jeans.
“Buckaloose” explores new territories with it’s tricky afro-groove. After three minutes of deep and groovy motherland funk, the track is breaking loose…
“Code 99″ is the first volume of a new series of limited collectors 45s by Lefties Soul Connection. 500 copies only and no repress. For Volume 2, Lefties will team with Funk & Soul shouter Flomega for a take on the Sonics garage punk classic “Have Love Will Travel”. You have been warned!
