“Vanden Winter en Vanden Somer”, het oudste en bekende allegorische toneelstuk (1400-1420) in het Nederlands, is door Philip Rachid in een hedendaags theaterstuk gegoten. Genaamd Koning Koopavond, een Hip Hopera.

De thema’s zijn Universeel, de strijd tussen goed en slecht, wie heeft er gelijk, wie is beter dan wie? En wat hebben we er voor over om dat te bewijzen? Dit alles is soms nodig om uiteindelijk er achter te komen dat liefde alles overwint

CHECK IT OUT

This Saturday, 2nd Christmas day, @ Classic Material in de Melkweg.
We will be performing a teaser of a new BBoy Theatre piece.

Working title: “Filled with Emptiness”

Goal :

• To interest a theatre production company to help expand/produce this play.
• To prove that we can keep the pure essence of breaking,
• its culture and the vocabulary of moves to tell a story that will fit in theatre.
• And to show that this dance is an adult legitimate art form.

Concept : Express vs Impress

Era : Tops, Drops and Floor Rocks (breaking 70’s style).

Story : “Love is a temporary madness.

It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. Or it bursts like a bubble.

The love for yourself, the love for your partner or even the love for your art, the dance.

Are you filled with emptiness?

Or does your soul scream for more substance?

When love subsides you have to make a decision.

You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together

that it is inconceivable that you should ever part.

Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement,

it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion.

That is just being “in love” which any of us can convince ourselves we are.

Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away,

and this is both an art and a fortunate accident.

About the Soap

Check In Check Uit is a soapserie with a wink,

based on the daily ins and outs at the national railway company in Holland called the NS.

The employees and the OV chipcard are the main focus point.

Just like in a real Soap, the story is strongly over dramatized and besides daily

happenings we experince tensions and emotions amidts the main characters.

In other words a series not to be missed!
